As Lisa got closer to her due date in Sept, I began to plan her shower. We decided on a mint and white color theme and more of a rustic shabby chic feel. I got to the diaper cake and had no idea how to do one but I decided to give it a go using my own imagination. It was a little harder than I thought, but pulled it off!

What you need:

Diapers (I asked what size was needed most) 1-2 packs

String

Hot glue

Ribbon

Burlap

For the largest layer I rolled 5-6 diapers and tied them together. Once they were tied I wrapped diapers around the outside making it as big as I wanted. Once I got it to the size I liked, I tied them together tightly. Second layer was done the same. I added a few items inside as well ie. bottles & washcloths really anything they could use that would fit.

I ended up making burlap flowers, thanks to pinterest on that one. Hot glued them together and that was the cake topper. Finished with burlap around both layers and that was it!

Here was the finished product.
