I don't remember the last time I bought rolls from a store, but pizza dough is a staple. While using pizza dough one night to make smaller pizza pockets it clicked with me that the possibilities with this type of dough were endless. So I set out to find a quick and easy dough recipe that could be easily adapted to make other meals.
These rolls take 30 minutes from start to finish. I almost always have everything I need to make them, and they are honestly so simple. Making dough has always intimidated me, but this is one recipe I promise you will find to be easy peasy.
Recipe:
1 cup plus 2 TBLSP luke warm water
⅓ cup oil
2 TBLSP active dry yeast (One packet)
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp salt
1 large egg
3½ cups flour (I use all purpose)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a bowl (or Kitchenaid), combine the warm water, oil, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 15 minutes.
Mix 2 cups of the flour, the salt, and the egg into the yeast mixture using a dough hook. Add the remaining 1½ cups flour ½ cup at a time.
Shape dough into 12 balls and place in a 9x13 pan. Let dough rest for 10 minutes.
Bake for 10 minutes or until tops are just golden brown.
