DIY Party Hat

Etsy has the best cake smash outfits, and most include a cute little party hat. The only problem I found with them was the price. I was not willing to pay an arm and a leg for something I knew I could make fairly easily. So here is the result of my crack at it, including a few things I would do differently for next time!
What you need:
- 1 sheet cardstock
- 1 small ball of yarn
- 1 fork
- fabric or tacky glue
-fabric of choice and scissors
- medium rick rack

Fold paper into cone and glue edges.
Take yarn and fork to create pom-pom.
I used this tutorial.

-Cut out desired design using fabric and scissors. Set aside.
-Glue on 1-2 rows of rick rack depending on hat design and size.
*You can use a hot glue gun or tacky glue for this part.

Next glue on fabric design.
*Here is what I would do differently next time*
We used a hot glue gun, and it left a visible line. I also ended up still needed to glue down the edges of the "1" anyway. Next time I would carefully use a Q-tip to apply glue to the "1" and press evenly on the hat.
