People always ask where I live in conversation. When I tell them, the best way for me to explain is a few miles south of Canada in the NW corner of WA. Ive also been asked what its like living so close. It's really not much different living so close and we love our norther neighbors. While there are quite a few perks there's also not. Here are some truth's for the curious!
1. You will always have a mixture of change in your wallet. Am I right or am I right?!
2. I'd rather go to Tim Hortons than Starbucks! ( I know, I know how dare I) We are coffee girls but reality is we prefer coffee stands and local coffee if we have the choice. Otherwise bring on the Steep Tea, Tim Bits and/or breakfast sandwich.
3. USA black Friday is now USA vs Canada black friday. Our shopping store parking lots are a good 50/50.
4. POUTINE! Need I say more?
5. You cross just to go to dinner for a change.
6. IKEA trips become a favorite past time.
7. Our gas lines are a mile long... Is gas really that much cheaper? And is there really a need to fill the 10 canisters in your trunk?
8. Our milk fridges are always empty as well.
9. Dutch Crunch Jalepeno Cheddar chips and well... all their chips. They have it all figured out! Why cant we get those here!!!?
10. Radio stations. We only get 1 or 2 local stations that are soft rock or sports. The best stations are in Vancouver. Close enough to get perfect broadcasting.
