Bedroom Organization Trick

Before I became a mom, my bedside table housed a picture of my husband and I, and my cell phone. When I became pregnant, and my body kept me up at night, I slowly started keeping more things on the table. As I was nesting (I didn't think nesting was real, but it is so real) I got an itch to organize this spot, and prep for having a newborn.

When we brought Mason home I was so thankful I had created a basket and space filled with all essential items. I had a painful recovery, and getting up and down was avoided at all costs. My little box helped with middle of the night feedings, and changing his diaper...or clothes (explosive diapers are innevitable.) I could fit my water, and even a snack if needed. I was able to care for Mason through all hours without stumbling through our house. I knew exactly where everything I needed was...conveniently tucked into a basket right next to me!

Here is what I keep it in now that I no longer need all the newborn essentials:

1. A Book. Whether I can't sleep, or I just want some down time while my little naps, I love a good paperback. I haven't read this one yet, but I'll let you know how it is!

2. Body Butter from the body shop. This is a must for me. I have been obsessed with the body shop since my early teens. I can't get enough of it, so of course two is better than one. This is great for massages, or getting rid of dull winter skin too!

3. A night shirt and yes...breast pads. Although I weaned my son, my body had other plans. These are a just in case. We have very small closets so this has been a good space to set my night shirts.

4. Earplugs. No my husband does not snore, I am just the worlds lightest sleeper.

5. Flashlight. We have a had a few long power outages this year, so a flashlight has definitely come in handy.

6. These are two great products given to me by one of my bests that lives across the ocean. I'm not sure they truly prevent stretch marks, or firm up anything much, but they make my skin feel so soft and healthy.
